April 30, 2000 -- Day 30
Destination: Hot Springs
Today's miles: 0
Trip miles: 270.5

What a gorgeous day! The sunniest and warmest so far. Except for the loud motorcycles that pass through town every so often, this is a peaceful, relaxing place to spend a zero-day. I found myself a kitty to play with, which I've been doing for the past few hours while lying around in the grass in front of the motel we're staying at tonight. One night with all those freight trains was enough.

Joker and Marie have decided to take another day off tomorrow, but I'm going move on. I feel like I'm getting in shape. Basically, I'm feeling very comfortable with trail life in general. Taking another full day off doesn't seem right for me, so it's better I don't stay. Chances are they'll catch up soon, and I hope they do. I've really enjoyed their company.

Now back to being lazy.
